making Australia fair for all Australians
It is all about making things fair for all Australians.
It is really that simple. We’ve chosen today, Australia Day, 26th January to refocus the efforts to support the needs of every Australian.
2020 (a bit like hindsight – 20/20) is a nice round number.
From the original inhabitants and custodians (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander alike – we pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging), to the First Fleet who survived a perilous journey (many of whom were sent against their will, often for political and petty crimes), to subsequent convicts and free settlers, to refugees seeking safety and safe haven (often escaping persecution, war, and famine), to more contemporary immigrants just trying to help us all make Australia that little bit better.
Every one is here for different reasons. It is time to choose a day of which we can all be proud to call Australia Day.
